Services

At Salud Pediatrics with hope to create a trusting partnership between you, your child, and your pediatric primary health care team.

As your child’s pediatric primary care provider we, will get to know your child's health history, listen to your concerns and needs (as well as your child's), and treat your child with compassion. As the partnership grows, our docs will have a better understanding of your child’s needs. This understanding will  help us  develop a care plan with you and your child.

At Salud Pediatrics, we offer a wide range of services. Below we've highlighted some the services we provide in order to provide a tailored care plan for your child.

Well Child - Preventive Wellness

Many parents view well-child visits as a time for scheduled vaccinations and to see how much your child has grown in the past few months. And although immunizations are a big part of the preventive care visit, our pediatricians also evaluate your child’s development, behavior and general well-being.

We also address safety in the home and at the playground, optimal nutrition, toilet training, and environmental concerns such as lead paint exposure, for example.

During these visits, we encourage parents to ask questions that normally can’t be address during a sick visit. For instance, our physicians also discuss common concerns with parents such as eating, sleeping, toilet training, social behaviors, as well as attention and learning problems.

Having regular well-child visits with your child’s doctor and raising the concerns that matter most to you are key ingredients in helping the doctor know you and your child, thus forming a reliable and trustworthy relationship.

Newborn Hospital Visits

Salud Pediatric pediatricians are also available to see your newborn baby at the hospital. During these hospital visits, the doctor will ensure your newborn baby is healthy by performing several physical examinations, reviewing labs, monitoring the baby’s weight and jaundice level, among other things.

Depending on whether the delivery was vaginal or by cesarean, the doctor will visit you and the baby on average 2 or 3 times before you go home.

Sick Visits | Illness & Conditions

Dealing with coughs, fevers, ear aches and other illnesses are a part of growing up. As part of our services, pediatrician’s at Salud Pediatrics are prepared to address prevention, symptoms, and treatments of common pediatric medical problems. For more complex illnesses and conditions, such as birth defects and obesity, we can also help parents understand and cope with these challenges.

Ancillary Services

As part of our commitment to provide the best pediatric care, we offer a wide range of additional tests. These tests, available to all patients, are part of our comprehensive pediatric care. They include:

  • Vision Screens - a painless, safe, non-invasive optometry test that checks the complete visual system of your child including the nerve pathway between the eyes and the brain. It is much more than a common eye test for kids. To read more, click the link.
  • Hearing Screens or otoacoustic emissions test – test that measures sound waves produced in the inner ear. A tiny probe is placed just inside the ear canal, which then measures the response when clicks or tones are played into a child’s ear.
  • In-house labs – these labs include urine testing, blood testing and cultures. For our patient’s convenience, we’ve partnered with Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp to provide more comprehensive testing. Specimen collection is done at our facility, shipped to the lab, and results are faxed back to our office.  This service eliminates the need to go to a testing center.

Here is another great convenience:

  • Urgent Care - our facility houses an Urgent Care staffed by Sherman Hospital. The urgent care is designed to treat minor (non life threatening) injuries and illnesses  for after hours needs. The urgent care has many of the same services as an ER, such as X-Ray and blood testing.
