Our Practice

Choosing a pediatrician is a very important decision. Factors to consider are finding one who shares your philosophy on the medical care of your child, immunizations, location and the ever-popular insurance coverage. Below we've outline a few topics that may be of interest as you decide if Salud Pediatrics is the medical home for you children.

About Our Practice

Established in 2004, the practice is a relatively new practice. Dr. Betancourt started the practice on her own shortly after parting from a larger pediatric group in the East Dundee and Elgin area.

Our practice has a simple yet valuable direction: shape the health of your child so she can become a healthy adult. And in doing that, we want you and your family’s experience to be remarkable at Salud Pediatrics. We are committed to serving the health care needs of your infants, children, and young adults.

We feel that at Salud Pediatrics, we offer the best comprehensive pediatric and adolescent care to children in the north western Chicago suburbs. Make sure to check out our 'services' area for a full description of the pediatric services we provide.

Feel free to give us a call at (847) 854-9402 should you have any further questions about the practice in general or specifically about the doctors. We also encourage you to spend time on our site.

Our Mission Statement

Inspired by the vision of a brighter future for all children, we are committed to helping each child reach his or her full potential by providing unsurpassed health care.

Patient-Centric Service

By putting the patient and their families at the center of all that we do, we can ensure that we are able to help each child reach their potential. This means giving the best service we can which fosters trust, understanding and builds strong relationships with our patients and their families.

Responding to patient inquiries appropriately, ensuring call-backs in a timely fashion, and generally fostering a culture of immediacy in meeting patient needs are all ways in which we can demonstrate the importance of service in our practice.

Fundamentally, embracing the patient service notion is about treating patients and their families as you would like to be treated

Compassion and Empathy

Central to our core values is treating our patients with compassion and respect. Understanding how our patients may be feeling and being sympathetic about that is essential to how we provide care.  We are committed to maintaining a deep awareness for our patients and each family’s needs. And we embrace the fact that having compassion for our patients and their families is a cornerstone of what pediatricians do.

We strive to recognize and understand the emotional condition of our patients and their families. Empathy requires a commitment from each staff member to understand the emotions of our patients and their parents’ sentiment. We acknowledge that in order to fulfill our mission, we must feel genuine concern for our patients, learn how they are feeling, and have a desire to help.

Protect Patient Privacy

We are committed to ensuring that HIPAA guidelines and protocols are followed at all times and can accomplish this by educating ourselves and our staff, by not discussing patient cases where other patients can hear, and correcting staff when compliance breaches are observed. It takes a team to build protection throughout the practice.
